A network of entrepreneurs in Montpellier is an organisation that brings together business leaders from the metropolitan area and, often, from across the Hérault department, to exchange information, receive training, be represented or refer business to one another. In Montpellier, this network relies primarily on departmental employers’ organisations, nationally-based networks of business leaders with a local presence, and support networks operating across the Mediterranean Occitanie region.

This guide presents the organisations that we have been able to verify via their official websites or in a dated public source, based on the information they publish about themselves. It does not rank them: it helps you find the one that best suits your needs.

How is the network landscape organised in Montpellier?

Three levels overlap. The first is the department: employers’ organisations and the Chamber of Commerce operate across the Hérault, from Montpellier to Béziers. The second is the local branch of a national network, such as the CJD or FCE. The third is regional: Réseau Entreprendre Occitanie Méditerranée covers the Hérault, the Gard, the Pyrénées-Orientales, the Aude and the Lozère. Knowing the scale at which a network operates tells you who you’ll meet there and where the meetings will take place.

Employers’ organisations: MEDEF Hérault Montpellier and Les Entrepreneurs Hérault

MEDEF Hérault Montpellier has 850 members, according to the business press, which reported in May 2026 that it had moved into new headquarters in Montpellier, having occupied premises in the Tournezy ZAC since 1985 (source: Le Journal des Entreprises, 28 May 2026). Ahead of the 2026 local elections, it organised an economic debate with the candidates for mayor of Montpellier, a sign of its role as a voice for businesses in dealings with elected representatives.

The former CPME 34 is now known as Les Entrepreneurs Hérault, following the CPME’s national rebranding in 2026. It describes itself as a cross-sector employers’ organisation and reports “nearly 650 members and 110 events a year”, with the aim of “breaking the isolation of business leaders ’ (source: Les Entrepreneurs Hérault website, accessed 22 October 2026). It also presents the Responsible and Committed Businesses Awards (#ERE34) every year.

These organisations are not business clubs: their primary mission is representation and support. Their calendar of events is, however, one of the most regular ways to meet business leaders from all sectors. The Hérault Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI Hérault), a public body, caters for all businesses within its jurisdiction.

Executives’ networks: CJD and FCE Hérault

The Centre des Jeunes Dirigeants has a Montpellier branch, as well as neighbouring branches such as Béziers and Vidourle, according to the map on its website. Its 131 branches offer ‘a themed plenary session every month’; membership requires an annual subscription, and the charter stipulates that members must “refrain from using the CJD network for commercial or financial purposes” (source: cjd.net, accessed 22 October 2026). It is a place to develop one’s leadership skills, not to canvass for business.

FCE Hérault is “a network of female business leaders covering all sectors of activity: services, commerce, industry and the craft trades”. Its activities centre on “monthly information meetings, training workshops, company visits and social events”, and its members sit on several local bodies (source: FCE France website, accessed 22 October 2026).

Business referral: the BNI model

BNI has a commercial objective: to help entrepreneurs and self-employed professionals grow their sales through referrals. Its rules are public: weekly meetings from 7.00 am to 9.30 am all year round, only one representative per profession in each group, and over 17,000 members in France and French-speaking Belgium (source: BNI France, accessed 22 October 2026). The Montpellier groups can be found using the ‘Find a Group’ tool on the website, a dynamic map which we do not quantify (source: BNI France, accessed 23 October 2026).

Starting or taking over a business: Réseau Entreprendre Occitanie Méditerranée

Réseau Entreprendre Occitanie Méditerranée supports business founders and business buyers in the Hérault, Gard, Pyrénées-Orientales, Aude and Lozère departments. The organisation reports that it has supported 211 business founders or buyers since 2008, including 31 successful applicants in 2024, 350 business leaders acting as mentors, volunteers and members, 2,706 jobs created or safeguarded, and €6.2 million lent to award winners since 2008 (source: Réseau Entreprendre Occitanie Méditerranée website, accessed on 22 October 2026). These figures apply to all five departments, not to Montpellier alone.

And what about local business clubs?

Montpellier and its metropolitan area have business parks and local authorities with business associations, but we have not found an up-to-date official website providing reliable information about them (search carried out on 23 October 2026). The best course of action is to contact your local council’s economic development department or the manager of your business park. The partner clubs of the city’s professional sports clubs are another point of entry, provided you become a partner.

How to choose a network in Montpellier?

  1. Start by identifying your needs. Clients, service providers, peer-to-peer exchanges, representation, funding: each type of network meets a specific need.
  2. Check the scale. A regional or departmental network will introduce you to business leaders from Béziers or Nîmes; a local branch will be more accessible.
  3. Assess the time commitment. A weekly morning meeting isn’t as demanding as a monthly plenary session.
  4. Read the rules: exclusivity by profession, no canvassing, attendance required.
  5. Try it out as a guest, then set yourself a review date before renewing your membership.

How do you find the right professional between meetings?

Much of a network’s value is created outside of meetings: a member might be looking for a caterer, a software developer or an accountant, or may wish to contact a specific company. Each network organises itself in its own way, from group messaging to a members’ directory.

MisterBridge is an option for these situations. The platform connects entrepreneurs’ clubs, professional networks and business sports clubs. You can search for businesses by skill and by city (within your club, or across the whole platform with global access), see who is attending an event once you’ve registered, and post a request: relevant companies are notified and you’ll receive up to five replies, including the name of the member who recommended the professional when they were suggested. You only need one account to post a request; if your club is on the platform, you can join using its code.

To get started, create an account or, if you already have one, log in. Discover MisterBridge for businesses too: an account to post your requests and join your club using its code, and global access so you can be found for your skills across the whole platform.

Frequently asked questions.

Do the Montpellier networks cover the whole of the Hérault?

It depends on the individual. Employers’ organisations operate at departmental level; Réseau Entreprendre Occitanie Méditerranée covers five departments, and the CJD has several branches in the region, including Montpellier and Béziers. If your business is based in Sète, Lunel or Béziers, check where the meetings are held before joining: distance does affect attendance.

Is it possible to find out about a network before joining it?

Yes, that’s the usual practice. BNI recommends visiting a group before applying, and most chapters welcome guests to a meeting or event. Contact the network via its website and ask for the next open date. Attending an evening meeting gives you a better idea of the standard of interaction than any presentation ever could.

Which network is best for a female executive in Montpellier?

All the networks featured here are mixed, with the exception of FCE Hérault, a network for female business leaders from all sectors. Its local branch organises monthly information sessions, workshops, company visits and social events. Many female business leaders combine a network of this kind with a employers’ organisation or a mixed-gender business club.

What should I do if none of the networks match my profession?

Start with employers’ organisations and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), which are open to all sectors, then look into referral networks, which recruit based on skills gaps. You can also, at the same time, showcase your company’s expertise on a platform that connects several networks, so that you can be found without having to wait for a vacancy to arise in a group.
